What is technical GEO?
Technical GEO is technical SEO extended for AI search: everything from crawlability, indexation, and Core Web Vitals to the layer AI engines specifically need, clean server-rendered HTML, AI crawler access, llms.txt, and complete structured data. Same discipline, more machines to satisfy.
How is it different from technical SEO?
It's a superset. Classic technical SEO optimizes for Googlebot, which renders JavaScript and forgives a lot. AI crawlers mostly don't render JS, weigh response speed in retrieval, and lean harder on structured data. A site can pass a classic audit and still be invisible to LLMs; we audit and fix for both at once.
Do AI crawlers execute JavaScript?
Mostly no. GPTBot, PerplexityBot, and ClaudeBot fetch raw HTML, so content that only exists after client-side rendering doesn't exist for them. This is the single most common reason otherwise-strong sites have zero AI visibility, and SSR or ISR on content templates is the fix.
What is llms.txt and do I need it?
llms.txt is a plain-text file that tells AI systems what your site covers and which pages matter most, like a curated map for LLM crawlers. It costs almost nothing to deploy and pairs with, not replaces, the deeper work of making pages fast and parseable. We ship it as standard.
